Want to borrow some K&B springs

I'm working with a local company building some coil springs and I would like to price building a spring set like the K&B setup. They really need to measure them to build them just right so I'm looking for someone to loan a pair for a week or 10 days. Of course anyone willing to loan a pair of springs would be generously compensated for their use.

loaner??

Brian,

I think that your request is anything but realistic...

If an SVX owner has these springs they are on his/her car so if you want to knock them off as you do, at least purchase them fairly.....

I'll buy a set as will others, I'm sure but somebody has spent time and money to make a VERY limited use product (these SVX babies are not civics) and we are circumventing the efforts THEY made to help people like us....

I am willing to support free enterprise system but in this case, go buy a set of springs, change the rates a little bit (or something/ anything) to make them unique and then market them as you do with your company...

Maybe, its just being so blunt about the intent that annoys me

Hotshoe!!!!

Hotshoe!!!!
You know, if these were available to purchase, I would buy a set today. As it is, many people have waited months to get them. I would like to have springs to sell next month, not wait six months to have a set to look at.
I know what it means to knock off a product. As a matter of fact, I hold a patent that a competitor decided to duplicate and I had to make use of a lawyer to get him to stop his patent infringement. Springs are not a patentable product for obvious reasons.
I can develop my own spring design in a matter of some weeks but is it really stealing to take say a set of Honda springs from some spring manufacturer and have some built like them, or maybe slightly different?
In fact I have been looking into importing something for these but a month into the effort, I'm still not much closer. If K&B was interested in selling to the US market, I would be the first in line. If not, I don't feel bad about building a similiar set of springs. They probably won't be identical, perhaps they'll be better.

well, for what it's worth Brian..

if I had k&b's on my car, I'd be without them for a couple of weeks in the interest of making widely avaliable an affordable solution for those seeking to improve their 3500lb boat's handling..

but i don't have them, so it doesn't do either of us any good..

sorry

Why not have them use the stock springs for measurments and adjust ride high and spring rate accordingly?
