what would you do if

would you guys give up your svx if you won the lottery? or would you keep it? I would keep mine and redo the entire car. interior, exterior the whole nine yards. I'd put twin turbos in it,and change it to all white. and keep it till it dies or spontaneuosly combusts.

I would strip it down to frame and buy everything that hasn't been discontinued and have the only 80K red 97 SVX with grey interior

An SVXer on the Yahoo SVX Club had his car painted all over with BMW white. This was about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago. He is in California. He posted pictures. Search the archives over there.
Personally, I did not care for it. I like the car better as a black and white (pearl) two-tone.

I was thinking of painting the wheels the same color pearl as the body. Then painting the center hubs the same color black, as on the trunk. I think that this would look nice. I am not able to create this look on the computer so I can only visualize it in my mind.

I would super charge the engine. Yes that means there may be a small lump in the hood.
Widen the wheel base just a little to fill the wheel wells better.
Re-engineer the bearings.
do something about the front brakes. Maybe re-caliper design.

Oh, and buy the rights to the SVX from Subaru, forcing them to start reproducing them again
How much is the lottery winnings again?

And I would paint them all Pearl White....

I would buy as many as I could find.
Start a repair shop for all you fellow owners with low $35 / hr labor rates. $20 bucks if you help out. You could stay at my B&B while the car is getting fixed, if you wanted to. I would definately start to auto-X every chance I got. Using one very special SVX for that. But then again I don't buy lottery tickets.

I've given this thought recently when the PA powerball reached $320 million. All my friends laughed when I said I'd keep my SVX ("Yeah, right! Like hell you would!) and get a few more. I'd hunt down the cleanest, lowest mile 97 I could find and keep it in perfect mint/restored condition. Then I'd rework the batmobile by widening the fenders to fit 250's and 18" wheels, swap out the tranny for a 5-speed, replace all the seats with lightweight one's, have a complete carbon-fiber frontend made, massage the engine/drivetrain as much as possible, have Lwin do his best video/tech magic on the interior, kickass stereo, blah, blah,blah... you get the idea!

Also reupolster the interior with smooth leather (dash, headliner...the works)

Ahh the wonderful what if lottery thread....
First off I'd keep mine and buy a few more a 97 and a 25th anniv. Keep them as stock and clean as possible for collectors sake. The other one or so would definately get modded. I definately would sink some money into R and D for aftermarket products.
At the same time there would definatley be a few other cars I would get. An STI WRX, I'd have a B4 Blitzein imported, Ford fan or not I would get a GT40. A Audi RS6 and ALMS TT. Porche GT2, and a Maybach with a driver. And of course a certain British car maker would be hearing from me.
I wonder if Jesse James would make a Monster garage special SVX.
I'd buy a lot of land and open a rally track, autox, and drag strip.
But my chances of winning the lottery are pretty slim since i never play the lottery. Que lastima.

I think I'd open up a school where I'd teach people how to spell

I'd go and get 10 more, give one to Jessie James and Monster Garage, give another one to a buddy of mine and tell him build me a 600hp street legal race car. Take 3 for R&D (scissor doors, full computer control, HID lights, LED lights all around) and Keep 4 in four different places i'd own (NY, Seattle, Miami, and perhaps LA) and the last one will be silver bullet edition (pretty much put all the parts back together from the 600hp SVX, scissor doors, and the whole 90 yards)

yeah 9 is too short when it comes to SVX.

What would you do if......

The Office of Homeland Security is proposing that we run out buy plastic sheeting and duck tape and seal up our houses.

I propose that we drive the SVX into the house, put the climate control system on recirc. and live in the car. Just be careful not to get any food stains on the interior. So stock up on 'wet ones' and napkins before you get into the car.

PS: Park the car facing the biggest screen TV in your house and put the TV remote in the car. Remember, baseball season starts soon.

GO YANKEES !!
