German Headlights with Leveling Switch

All,

I bought these lights through ebay.de with the intention of installing them on my car.

The lights are in used, but good condition with very little wear. Servo motors are installed on the headlights and I will include the headlight leveling switch with the purchase. I would like to get $850 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48. You know how rare these are. Email me at taylor dot cu at gmail dot com if interested and I can provide additional pictures.

Lucky! I have tried to import a set of these twice. Both times they arrived broken.

Re: German Headlights with Leveling Switch

What's the advantage of these lights over UDSM lights, beside the leveling switch? Thanks.

They are made of glass... They will never turn yellow

No. it is a manually-controlled four position switch. Our US-spec headlights are fixed with no adjustment.

The illumination and cutoff points are the same. The German units use different bulbs H-3 and H-4 halogen bulbs. They also do not have foglights (just a blank plate installed). All of these parts can be easily changed to accept the US bulbs.

The actual lens pattern is exactly the same, except made of glass. At the time the SVX was released, the German TUV required that all vehicles registered in had to have glass headlights.

With advances in polycarbonate technology, that requirement was eventually removed.

Re: German Headlights with Leveling Switch

Do these have a right side bias or left side?

Re: German Headlights with Leveling Switch

They're going to be the same as USDM as far as the bias is concerned. The Germans drive on the right side of the road.
