Headers Feeler
So as it is with the cold air intakes, for me to go through the R&D for NA Headers it takes money. So I wanna know how many people would be willing to actually purchase them? If not enough people are interested I'll just hold off until I do my turbo kit otherwise if it's worth my while I'll do some NA ones as well. anyone??

Re: Headers Feeler
If they could he designed for my 11:1 cr setup I would he very interested. I don't know enough about exhaust to actually have any specific requests other than that, though.

Re: Headers Feeler
I don't have the extra capital to actually vouch for a set, but depending on the design and engineering of your proposed headers, they would be on my list.
I designed the headers on my EA81T and if you want any ideas or general best practices for building headers, feel free to ask. |

Re: Headers Feeler
here is a half assed photoshop rendition of my idea for headers and the collector pipe that would connect to a highflow cat

Re: Headers Feeler
it is basically a shorter version of rallybob's headers

I'm curious as to the benefits this would have on a stock car, or a car making a little more power than stock.

Re: Headers Feeler
You really want to run longer primary tubes than I did, with smaller diameters. For an automatic-equipped (heavy) car, torque is king. Peak HP is a secondary requirement. Shorter, large diameter tubes favor higher rpms.

Re: Headers Feeler
A properly manufactured and developed set of headers would be of great interest when it comes time to do the exhaust in spring... im 'feelin' this

^^Quoted for truth^^. As a fabricator of components of this type, and a product that seems to be set towards the typical SVX owner, short tube large diameter headers would not be the best approach. Take it as it is though, it is your product so design and make as you see fit. |

Re: Headers Feeler
So these headers will do away with the front cats and end where the main cat is? How will it effect the o2 sensors?

Re: Headers Feeler
If I was shopping these up, I'd love to see bungs for wideband and EGT.

Re: Headers Feeler
Has anyone considered marketing sets of OEM ex. manifolds that have been extrude honed? You would have the heat retention (cast), factory fitment, and FHI engineering that went into the OEM manifolds, but dramatically improve the flow.
A single set would cost over $400 for the individual consumer, but a set of 10 or more could probably be had for a significant savings. Not trying to hurt business, just trying to save in startup costs and offering ideas. I'm pretty new to the community, so I don't know if this has been offered as a solution yet. |
