Yeah, I like it.

I think the stock stroke by 6 times 4" is big enough for me, I think I'll actually go for that. 3682.5cc is plenty of displacement without needing the extra work of grinding the crank. Leaving the crank stock, me.

103mm bore with a factory crank (75mm) is 3750cc

Those are nice round numbers.

103 mm

Are we talking forged special pistons here? Can a set of six be purchased at a reasonable price?

By the time you have a set of forged pistons, with rings, pins, and clips it's about $1000.00 USD.
Add friction and thermal coatings, another $200.00.

To me, its the most expencive cost in a performance build.

If like me you already have an engine or two as an "investment" it's not beyond reach for a decent build.

Thanks Tom.

Danny, don't forget I'm a believer in forced induction.

I will be quite happy to yield whatever power is available within the envelope of the current rev range for the 4EAT. So I'm not too pushed about improving breathing by head or valve work. I'll be quite happy with whatever improvement a new exhaust system yields.

So bore to 103. New pistons and gaskets. New exhaust. Forced induction to 1 atmosphere. Water / meths injection. That's all.

I must run the numbers and see what's the cost/expected hp ratio.

Oh, I will at some stage beef up the 4EAT, that's another cost.

Joe

In this case Joe you will be running on an unreliable engine. Your exhaust valves will eventually fail but I guess this is relative to the way you drive the car (racing all the time?)

Re: Re-sleeved EG33 vid

103mm bore and forced induction aren't a combination I'd go after. Stick with a small bore if you are going forced induction for overall reliability. I'd really question if its worth while going to a sleeved block and big bore if you are doing forced induction.

I'd keep it simple.
97.5mm bore 9.0:1 compression
stock block
manley rods
