Brilliant Red, Base/clear?
Is the Brilliant Red a base/clear paint, or is it a straight color?
The mirrors, and sail panels on my new baby are fading. Before I go the paint route I'd like to know if a good rubbing compound would help. If I have to repaint the mirrors and sails, I'll have chrome vyinl lettering made up that says Alcyone. I'll replace the SVX badges with these.

ok then, let's see a $60 tire, and a $15 can of custom mixed paint.
Now I just need to find me a control arm. But that'll hafta wait a week or 2.

What Huck said but you're not gonna want Subie Brilliant red. You'll want them to color match to what you currently have as the rest has faded as well. Gotta love red!

My local autobody supply house is on a 1st name basis with me. I build model cars and use actual car paint exclusively.
They have a scanner that they use, to do an exact color match.

Red is the one color that scanners don't work with as it is arguably the most difficult color to match. Hope they have some good eyes as the old fashion way is the best when it comes to red. Its amazing how differenent my repainted sails and mirrors are compared to the orignal color when looking at them up close. Step away 1 foot and they look like a perfect match still 5 years out. The painter (a good friend) tried 3 different color matched colors for it, none were as good as his eyes.

Red is pretty easy, but technolagy seems to have a tough time with it
Yes, it's base clear.
