Re: Head Stud Development

Is there anybody who wants to buy head studs and join me for a buy group?

Your projects were made 10 years ago it seems? lol

Yeah, I saw those pictures. They are no good to pull up orders in the ARP system though. I will email Flatirons Tuning today and see if they are able to do something.

Tencho, I would definitely join and I know of one more member that would be in too.
I'm afraid that for a group buy we would need more members though. Usually, for a group buy you need at least 10+ orders and I believe that is impossible. Another factor is that you are in Europe and I'm in the States, so that might not work either.

Re: Head Stud Development

Last year I was looking into arp head studs, Iceingdeath88 may have ordered some I think when I talked to him he had arp's.

Josh at Import Image Racing located in Cape Coral Fl told me he could easily get me a set of arp's cost would be $334 or so.

He did have ARP studs from the first batch, but they were in the engine he sold. I talked to him last week and he is going to be needing some in the future.

Directly through ARP is cheaper. I'm still waiting for a reply from Justin but expecting somewhere between $250-300

Re: Head Stud Development

Any news?
I am thinking to buy one more EJ20 head studs and to cut them to 6.75".
The other option is to buy 8 head studs from Extreme Tuners from Greece.

Here is the answer:

Quote:
hello sir,

Yes we can built any custom design. Also we can supply you the head gasket in oring system.
Here is the prices – option per custom head stud.

1) ToolSteel H11 – 48e per stud. 180.000ksi
2) ToolSteel H13 – 62e per stud. 215.000ksi

Oring system per cylinder options are:

4340 billet oring – 80e per cylinder
tool steel – 140e per cylinder.

If you want to proceed we can send you the spec list to fill.

I'm waiting for news as well.
Since OEM head bolts are now discontinued, we need to set up a group buy for everyone that needs them.

Unfortunately I never received any reply to my quote. It's now been 4 months. He won't even answer my calls. If other people (ie. Edwin) are able to contact him and go through the process of ordering a couple sets I will buy at least 2 sets.

Re: Head Stud Development

I sent an email to Flatirons Tuning since it seems futile to contact ARP directly.
Once I get confirmation of a possible group buy, I will start a new thread for that.
