ebay svx

Does the bidding on this look odd to you. I'm not good at spotting shady auctions

Why is it odd? Because the bids are low? The seller has a reserve price on it.

Just seems strange the seller has no feedback and a dealer sounding handle. And the poople bidding seem to only deal with the same person.

Right now the bid is low and hasn't reached the reserve, so you really have no idea what the seller ultimately wants for it; nothing unusual there.

Basically the only thing about the auction I would be cautious about is the fact that the seller has no positive feedback. This doesn't mean he's a crook or anything it just means they joined ebay recently (11-6-06 to be exact). However I find it interesting that this person is also selling a 1984 Rolls Royce. Most people when they first start selling usually test the waters first before they dive into selling multiple cars.

If it were me I think I would steer clear of it unless you are in his/her area and can actually see the car.

I also happen to like sellers that accept PayPal. Maybe it's a false sense of security but I like it anyways.

Personally I like to see my cars first before laying down any cash but I know lots of people who have purchased a vehicle off of Ebay and were very happy.

What does anybody else think?

The car doesn't look to be in great condition, the trunk doesn't match and there are some funny looking marks in the paint. But for a 75000 mile 92? What you put in for body work you might save from mechanical.

I would definately look at it first, also the first 2 bids are from someone with no feedback. Just because it's ugly doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a good home

It looks sketchy to me also. the deck lid doesnt match and the marks around the sides scream "REARENDED" and there appears to be be some considerable scratches on both sides that are photographed well enough to satisfy 'full disclosure IMO.

Also whats with this "THIS IS MY PERSONAL CAR, SELLING FOR PORCHE." Look at the cars in the background, surely he takes better care of his personal cars then this.

I would not buy a car from someone who can't even clean up their engine bay.

Who knows if they've even seen the underside of the oil cap or know what color tranny fluid is.
