If the parking switch is b0rked, you would think as well that the parking lights on the front of the car wouldn't work either. Is this the case? If it isn't, maybe you've got a blown fuse.

Well no luck at the salvage yard,I'm going to order that switch wednesday, funny thing is that the two fuses in that circuit don't have voltage and neither do the socket where the relay that control the circuit also, its like that switch is a common ground for the circuit. But thats exactly what happen a few years ago and I replaced the switch and everything was ok.Also that switch can turn your park lights on even without the key in the ignition.keep you posted.

Yeah, you describe symptoms associated with the switch being fried. I asked about parking lights in the front because they go on with the tails with that switch.

They go on without the ignition because in Europe, when you park on the side of a narrow street you have to have lights on. And instead of leaving all your lights on (which would leave the battery drained very fastly), you use that switch so that you don't drain the battery. It's a very cool feature...just that those switches fail on occasion.
