Ok, here is the thing guys... I have dealt with him in the past. When he was still registered as SlonSVX5mt he was selling parts like a mad-man and I tried to help him get out of trouble by checking him out.(I was the closest person to his location). After I spoke with him on the phone I drove down to his mom's house to check out the car(s) he was selling and their parts. It was all there but he still shafted people on parts on my own behalf. I vouched for the guy and he shafted people. I still have his phone # in my phone, I asked to compare #'s as a piece of evidence to present to the proper authorities to notify them of his scandals and fraud. I am no vigilanty and I do not approve of such action. If anything were to happen it could all be traced back here and several of us would be in big dooty so to speak. So in short I was mearly asking for a piece of evidence that would hold up in the presence of the police or local court and nothing more. I understand the confusion and near hypocritical statements I have made on the issue but it is all for good reason and adressing the situation like a mature adult.

Then anyone could say "send me the number so I can see if it is the same guy". Now I realize Tom has been on this forum for some time and appears to be a very trusted guy. So do we change the rules and make it ok to PM him a phone number and no one else that may have been burned? And by chance lets say it is the same guy - so what - do we start sharing the number then?

I am really confused on what the RIGHT thing is to do. I see Tom's point of not sharing, but then I don't see why its okay to share when he asks. (nothing personal Tom - just a good example of when is it OK)

Still looking for more feedback from members.

We should have a link for any info we have on a scammer, and even give his shirt size if we have it!! If we ALL know who's scamming, and who is not, the site will be a safer place to do business!

I recieved a lot of bad checks in my years of dealing with the public, and when I shut down the business I did a 6 foot square sign in the front window, and posted ALL of them for the world to see!!

I HATE rip-offs!!! There should be a 'season'!!! Where were the 'ethics' when the rip off was ripping???

good stuff! Why does someone continue to rip off people even after they get caught? Because there is no punishment (or a very small punishment). This guy keeps pulling the same scam and obviously has not received any (or enough) punishment.

Many cities publish the names and addresses of johns picked up for soliciting prostitutes in the hope that the embarrassment will stop them from doing it again (as fines apparently do not work). We need to find something that will persuade this guy to stop his scamming. Getting him in trouble with the cops? Making sure everyone knows who he is? There must be something.

I vote for an atomic wedgie. I am even willing to fly to the east coast to administer the punishment.

Is there a way to let his ISP know of his wrong doings? Perhaps in their Terms & Conditions there is a clause for what he is doing with a result of cancelling his contract?

Problem with that David is that he can always get AOL free for 9 years or whatever their add is now or go to a diff company. There is little you can do besides be a vigilante and take care of it yourself... It sucks but it needs to be accepted. No reason to threaten to go to his place and do bad stuff, it sucks he scammed a couple guys but is it really worth a couple bucks?? after all it is just money

Im out almost $200 with this tool
Ill still take his # and only because the # he had
listed on ebay for his contact info was total BS.
He actually called my shop a few weeks ago, then never heard from him again.
Didnt think to get his # then.
I just want to talk to him to hear his story and see where my parts are.

If I recall, in a thread about the suckiness of AOL, he mentioned that he "borrows" wireless from a few of his neighbors. So good luck tying him down to one number...
