It was an awd volvo - must have had an open diff or just that the craptastic volvo/ford awd system is that bad.
also - they are both using the same type of tires.

They are arguing that it isn't a good comparison.
The goal of the test was to show that the Volvo's AWD doesn't work. They did this test on TopGear as well. The only reason the Outback was in the video was to show that the hill could be conquered with a vehicle with working AWD.
