Lots of Photos of my 94 blue SVX

Okay, by now you all know the saga of my trip to Charlottesville (the hardcover ) and my $500 leather seats I won on eBay. I woke up at 5:30 this past Tuesday to drive from Long Island NY to Ulster County NY and get the seats from a guy who bought a wrecked SVX at auction -- but the seats were great. I also got new visors, and a few other needed parts. My old rear seat and front seat cushions are available. Because my front seats are automatic and the others were manual I had to do a front cushion transplant -- what a pain! But the end result was really worth it.

I finished everything yesterday and before the SVX could get tree pollen all over it I grabbed my digital camera and headed for my local boat ramp. I bet the passerby thought I had the new subaru submarine or something. Thank God I remembered the parking brake and kept my eye on the incoming tide.

Here are the photos:

http://www.danwagner.com/svx/index.htm

I think I might like to have the stationary side windows tinted blue -- that's where the sun bother's me the most and keep the movable pieces clear. Any advice it appreciated. My son's friends all think my ride has been pimped -- even before the seats. Funny thing because it looks pimped from the factory.

One thing I like is that the seat bolts have plastic cover pieces. My 2006 Outback doesn't have this feature. Or they forgot to install them. I plan on checking into this.

Nice pics Dan. I love the way those photos are laid out - best format ever!

Btw, those seats look killer!

Great group of pics there. Nice car. What did you do with the old leather on the head rests and seats? Or, did they use it and add the blue to it? If you still have it, is it for sale?

The leather kit was originally sold by http://svx-motorsport-accessories.st...cusleatin.html -- It cost about $870 without the SVX embroidery. And then it has to be installed. There are instructions to install at http://svx-iw.com . I was lucky to find it on eBay within 2 plus hours drive in a car with a lot of front end damage already installed. That's why I have my old fabric and vinyl seats and all 4 headrests available cheap -- the rear seats are great, on the front I only have the cushions -- the top driver's cushion has a 2 inch piece of missing/torn vinyl. I had to remove the frames and didn't want to spend hours re-attaching the cushions.

I also have the tool kit from the donor car and the center console, shifter handle, parking brake handle, passenger window switch, and a few other minor items.

I'm glad people like the photos -- they hide the usual rock chips and minor touch ups.

Were your original seats manual and the new blue ones automatic? If so, you didn't have to remove the cushions. All SVX's are wired for automatic seats, no matter what kind you have. I have an L model with leather power seats out of an LSi model.

Looks good though.

On the manual seats the seat belt receiver furthest from door is several inches lower on the side housing and the entry angle would be wrong. On the outside of the automatic seats is a seat belt guide with mounting hardware that cannot be attached to the manual seats. I would have had to convert from automatic to manual seat belts and I didn't want to attempt that. Maybe your LSi leather seats are from a pre-1994 car and have the automatic seat belts. The wiring wasn't a problem -- same connectors under driver's seat.

Thanks. Did you do the PWR Radiator conversion? How do you like it and was it hard making it fit?

Seeing the new seats makes me want to get mine redone just like those, but I want the JDM logo's in the seat backs.
