what has your svx been confused as?

I have mistaken a talon for a svx from a great distance before.
The probe's side mirror and front fender is the source of confusion I think.

Before I accumulated soo much damage I regularly got the "how long has it been out?" from people thinking it was a new subaru.

I had a WRX guy that ran a tire shop try to act like he new all about the SVX. and he asked if I had the turbo model, cause FZ4s seemed a little too aggressive if it was just the base 2.5

I was mistaken for a probe once, But usually they just walk up and ask me "What the hell is this?","What year is it?","those are some fancy windows!","WOW!" and so on.

I was driving down the coast one day, and stoped at a set of lights, a family was walking home from the beach, as they walked passed my car the youngest boy (aprox 6) said "daddy i want one of those cars", the dads replay was "nah its one of those nissan skyline things", as i pulled away from the lights, i thought to myself, what a tool.

An Eagle Talon is a Mitsubishi Eclipse which was sold by Chrysler's Jeep dealers. I could never see the comparison with the SVX though. The Probe maybe, but it has skinny hips.

This has got to be the best one out there, the lady that introduced me to the SVX was once at the gas station and another SVX'er (major blonde) drove up next to her, and the lady got out and asked my friend what kind of car she was driving She asked if it was a saturn??? What is up with hick blondes? (not to offend anyone) But really... she was driving a 92 Claret LS-L and my friend was driving a Red 94 LSi. A little while after that I bought the SVX from the blonde lady But I thought that story was funny as hell

i get 3000gt comments (tail lights) and Probe from the front. I also just get the guys who stare and point. Some in traffic ask me what it is. I tell them its a SVx, they nod and look confused as I take off. Its pretty funny actually, sometimes I tell people its a Ferrari.

Hijack--> I was driving in South Raleigh on capital, near downtown, 2 weeks ago and came up on a 94-97 (had side svx decal) red with tan leather. We exchanged nods, I waved, but got no response. I mean, come on, a car that is as rare as a Ferrari Testarossa, can't we give some love.

Here is my 96 Polo Green parked next to another unique car with funny windows. It happens to be a two-tone Claret and black. Fortunately, I have always been able to tell them apart.



Here is another photo of "Babette" after two days of detailing. The car also has a gray interior, just like her pretty big sister. The 2 cylinder BOXER engine is 425cc and produces 28hp @3500rpm and and torque is 17 ft./lbs at 1800 rpm.
