Driveline/tranny ?'s

I just installed the shift kit and am very pleased with the results. Smooth shifts in "D" and "3".
First question: For normal city/suburb driving is it better to drive in "3"? I notice very smooth acceleration from stand still, but I notice the rpms are higher all together. I would assume I'd get lesser gas mileage than I would with "D"...Am I correct? Is it really that much of a difference?

Second question: I notice some slop in "D" from starting from a complete stop. Normal shifting is smooth on acceleration and deceleration, but the slop feeling is a little irratable. Is there a way to reduce the slop? I thought some members had some tricks or tips....

Matt

Covered many times before. (try search)

Driving in 3 allows more ATF flow through the tranny and less lugging (more pep) than 4th. Mileage would depend on speeds driven. At 50mph or more drive in 4th for sure.

Whether you start in 1, 2, 3 or D you're still starting with the transmission in 1st gear. There should be no difference.
