SPROING noise when braking

When i stop my car, just before it comes to a full stop i hear a noise that sounds like a spring releasing, and at the same time the brake pedal pushes back against my foot, but then the car stops fine. Anyone have any ideas what this is? When i bought my car i bought drilled/slotted rotors, semi-metallic pads and s/s braided lines, but i haven't installed them yet as i'm waiting for the pads that are on it to wear out. Is this noise a sign that it's ready for the upgrade? All help is appreciated. Marc

Does it feel like the ABS?

You do have 4 equally sized tires with relatively equal wear on the car right?

my car was doing that too. it turned out to be a dirty wheel sensor. when you change the rotors, clean the wheel sensors and all should be well. until then though, you can pull the fuse in the fuse box under the dash thats marked abs solenoid. the abs light will be on but at least you won't have to put up with the abs kickin in. good luck.

Cool, thanks. Guess it's time to change the rotors. BTW, what kind of bud are you a freak for?
