Well I'd think that is fairly decent (they did let me take mine to a dealer I had confidence in to fix it). They are not number 1 in service but they do have one of those star awards or whatever. My total bill at another place was well over $1000 and they paid it. I even got $100 for the cds that were in my cd player when it didn't work even though they don't take anything out of it so it was Subaru's fault I didn't get em back. To me it had little to do with their service but rather their lack of customer service. I never actually talked to anyone in the service dept nor did I get an apology. As for them not standing up for their work that is just typical as the car is over 10 years old.

OK things are getting better.

I requested:
1. replace timing belt mounting plate
2. replace timing belt cover
3. replace fans shrouds
4. refund me $420 labor charge for original work.
5. warranty labor for 12 months (parts have 12 anyway.

Service manager agreed to all but #4 which I understand.
I intend to take it to the owner for refund for my lost time, wages, and peace of mind.

Anyway we'll see if these promises hold water come Wednesday when I bring the beloved SVX in.

To be updated team,
Biz

Bizzare,

Glad to hear that Matt Slap is bargaining with you to fix their mess-ups. Sorry that I did not get to meet you. It was a very hectic + expensive weekend for us. We have been scouting different skilled nursing homes in the area for Rosie's mom. We have it narrowed down to 2. Also, we contracted for 24/7, one on one, CNA care for her mom.
The funniest thing happened. Rosie met a guy whose mom is in the same nursing home as her mom. Both ladies are in Manor Care in northern DE. This nursing home has really deteriorated from 2 years ago when it was one of the best. Now it's one of the worst.
He saw the SVX emblem on her shirt and they struck up a conversation about cars. He is a Miata buff. He has a massive collection of Road & Track + Car & Driver (Sports Car Illustrated) going back to 1956. We met this weekend and he gave e some back issues of R&T with SVX material. I am reading the articles and will have to get them scanned. Eventually I will put them in my locker.

Dealership will fix all that they broke assuming they do not break more on the way out or in...

No dice on the refund of $420.00

Thanks to everyone for your support. I will draft a full story on how all this went down after final resolution.
Never know who might be reading.

Adrian
