Finally
finally.... got a call this morning from my mechanic... that my svx has come back from 1 YEAR of abscence and its in running shape (i hope good running condition)....
this has been a long long process... of tranny dying... trying to get a 5speed swap, cannot find a competent shop.... ended up going to some screwballs who messed up the whole car... getting the car to another shop, just to find out that the 1st shop took everything apart and basically tore into the car... (they even took my exhaust)... so basically, i had to get all new bolts for the tranny, LOTS of new parts, and a custom exhaust along the way.... i'll be back in the midwest on sunday and picking up the svx on monday.... please wish me luck as i drive up back to madison.... i'd love to go to a chicago meet soon to let svxers diagnose my svx and figure out any other problems and get everything fixed in one go... along the way, there are so many members on this forum i want to thank... you know who you are... THANKS... i troubled a lot of people with the whole selling/trading tranny thing... what happened is that my parents ended up fronting the money on the condition that i keep the car stock (no tranny swap of any sort, rebuild is ok, but no other tranny).... its been one whole years since i drove my svx.... i'm definitely looking forward to it.... once i fix all the small problems.... i'm just going to install the shift kit and a tranny cooler.... get a nice and simple stereo system.... and maybe, just maybe, revamp the suspension..... wish me luck subafan

oh yeah, and once i make sure the svx is running... my mr2 will be for sale... need to pay back my parents the money as soon as possible.....

Hope it all works out..(fingers and toe toes crossed) I understand the long term "lack of SVX" It has been 7.5 months since I have sat in mine and driven it. All I would be able to do is look at her....and wait for spring. Golly am I jonesing.........BAD!!!! |
