OBD-I engine into OBD-II car

I'm at a point with my SVX that i'm looking to replace my engine. I need to know what has to be done to put an OBD-I EG33 into my OBD-II '96. This would open up a lot more possibilities for me. For those of you interested in such things, I got 287,000mi out of the engine before it most likeley spun a bearing. It has a really bad deep down knock in it. I'm going to replace it for the time being, so I can continue to drive it.
I intend to do a long, slow build of the original engine. I'm going to be following this pattern. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50837 Drawing back in areas to allow use of the stock ECU/harness. The SVX has plenty of power, but I'd like to be quicker than a current accord, or camry LOL
I'm also looking into a paddle shift setup for my 4EAT
Other mods are some Nissan Maxima 18" wheels, repainting the faux wood piano black, and chroming the switchgear on the dash. I want it classy
The wheels I'm looking into...

Re: OBD-I engine into OBD-II car

Just swap over intake manifolds and upper engine harness and you'll be good to go.

Also, you do know ECUtune software doesn't work with OBDII SVX, right?

Re: OBD-I engine into OBD-II car

I swapped the engine and tranny from my wrecked 96 OBDII into a 94 OBDI, and just swapped the intakes, and it was good to go as Nate said
