ECU location...?

I have yet to buy my SVX but i heard that the ecu might be on the trans tunnel. Is this true?

i was actually remembering from a long time ago someone told me that.

this will be my first SVX so im just looking for things to plan all my mods out once i got the car.

So by this you mean under the plastic kick panel that is under the steering wheel and cluster? Or do you mean over right near the door mounted to the side firewall?

Just trying to get a feel for exactly where this is. SVX swaps coming soon too for a friends Impreza.

Slide said seat back. Place head under steering column in which you will see some nice shiny metal boxes above your head. You could say that are attached to firewall.

P.S. I'm not meaning to sound like an ass just being literal =D

Yea, it is literally above your feet under the dash. They are mounted the the dash's cross suppport, both ECU and TCU together.

Thanks for the input guys. Now that you say the TCU and the ECu are next to each other i know exactly where they are.

Im a Impreza guy, but am eager to learn more about these cars. i really cant wait to get one and tear it down like i do all my Imprezas.

Yeah we are right on Summit Ave in Union City. If you need anything give us a call. I would love to take a closer look at an SVX before i finally grab one. Although it might end up being this week or next.

We specialize in motor swaps on Impreza, Legacy/Outback, Forester. I want to get into the SVX for the obvious reasons, but also for swapping purposes as well. And a super hi-tech project coming for mine.

There's a white 92 at the exxon at the intersection of communipaw ave and rt 440. The trans is going and it's been parked. Last I heard he wanted $1000 for it. The owner is the guy that runs that station.

really? Good to know. I have seen that thing sitting there. If i remember, way back when i use to go to school in Jersey City that thing was there, hehe. That was really only like 5 years ago. haha.

Maybe i will stop in and see if he will take $500 for it.
