Just got new plates :)

hey hey.. This year for my birthday, my mother offered to buy me vanity plates for the SVX... how sweet

After many nights tossing and turning, I decided to get WRXDNA, being limited to six characters. Well, upon arriving at the DMV, I found out that I was allowed SEVEN characters.. so i got ALCYONE

Can anyone enlighten me as to the precise pronounciation of the star? I have an inkling that it's "AL-SEE-OHN" but it might be "AL-SEE-ON" or "AL-KEE-ONE" heh.. any input?

update: dictionary.com says it's "AL-SEE-UH-KNEE" with the "SEE" accented... anyone heard different?

Hey Adam,
I also have "al-SEE-oh-nee" as an alternate in the astronomical databases. Jeepers, you didn't grab alcyone in NH did you or do you just go to school here?

If I know how to read Webster's (doubtful), it sounds like...

al sigh uh knee

the only difference being the "I" sound in the second sylable instead of the EE you found.
