Thoughts on exhaust idea.

I didnt want to derail the exhaust thread with this question so hear goes.
My experience with NA performance comes from american V8s.
I know a lot of what I know may not carry over but I wanted to run this exhaust idea past a few of you "in the know" about these cars.
My idea is this.
2" head pipes with high flow cats.
Going into a 2" inlet 2.25" outlet X pipe.
Going into a dual inlet-dual outlet muffler, probably magnaflow.
Going rearward with 2.5" tail pipes out the rear of the car.
This is a shrunken variation of the system I have used with great success on my larger engines.
The power is made in the front of the exhaust system, the tone is made in the rear.
Depending on final tone I have the option of installing dual resonators to adjust the sound.

Thoughts, opinions, flames, recipes for good BBQ?

I dont see the need for the X pipe if you go with the magnaflow. The magnaflow has an internal X configuration already. The SVX has an equal firing order. I would keep each bank separate. Otherwise, that would be about the diameter pipe to use.

Just my $0.02

I am looking at the MPE-11378.
I think the one you are mentioning is the tru-x muffler.

Yes each bank separate to take advantage of the equal firing. However the pipe size suggested should be reduced somewhat.

If tone, rather than performance is the aim, anything will do.

On equal fire 6s X pipes have been shown to help power if they are far enough downstream that it doesnt reverb into the other head pipe.

But better than twin pipes? Please provide scientific/factual evidence. In any event why compromise?

2 hp increase, not much... but its an increase.
And yes, it makes a bit of difference in tone.
I am on so many forums it will take some time to search them all
I will post what I find.
BUT... there wasnt a drop, and there was a slight power increase.
From the research I did quite a while back... The higher you twist it and the more power you make... the more beneficial the X becomes.
