I like the decals because I find the plain SVX just a little too plain. But I don't really like the idea of putting a decal over the paint in case it fades or peels off and starts to make the car look scruffy. I really like the idea of putting a vinyl one in the window which can easily be peeled off without causing any trouble. I agree that the designer label gives the car a little more of an "exotic" look and I'm sure is a conversation starter for anyone who wants info on the car. I particularly like the gold sticker with the 24 valve DOHC info on it but I realize that I just got the car and would want to live with it for a while before sticking decals all over it.
One question for you guys. The Alcyone head ornament that sells for about $75. How is that attached to the vehicle? My SVX currently has nothing there because the guy I bought it from didn't like any bades on the vehicle. I feel something is missing from the front and thought the Alcyone badge is again a little different. Considering the price. Is this ornament very high quality???
thanks

It is very easy to install. They come in two colors. Silver and gold. They are high quality and look very nice on the hood.

They're $10 a pair for me so pay that plus shipping? I'll make a new thread once I get them in.

Whe you say easy to install do you mean glue, screws...

And tt the risk of making myself look even more stupid than I am, could someone explain JDM (I'm guessing, and it's just a guess, that it means Japanese Distributor something but I'm probably in left field...

Have I already said how much I love this car????http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/imag...es/biggrin.gif

It means it's from Japan, so it's cool/rare/expensiver. Yeah, expensiver.

JDM stands for Japan or Japanese Domestic Market.

Just joking, I was there twice at the base. Air Traffic Control school.
I sure loved Shelby Park. I was there in '82 when the Miss. flooded almost out to the highway.
I retired from the Navy at Millington - Maintenance Officer/Training Officer (for the ETs) at ATC School. July 1985 - Nov 1987.

... and I live just a couple of miles from the Park in Shelby Forest.

Guess I missed the flood - You wouldn't know Millington now, really improving and growing.

When I click on the link, it comes up with the post and the photo of my car with the small Giugiaro window decal my son makes. The rest of the link was mostly bad mouthing the decal - but I think it looks good. Maybe I didn't put the link in the text correctly, I'm not too good at these things.

I have never been away, just don't post much. Take care Earl!

Right now my car has nothing on it. I am considering adding a few decals and the Alycone hood emblem. My question now is, considering I have a teal SVX, what colour do you guys think I should go with if I choose to add various decals and the Alcyone hood ornament. I like subtle. Gold would complement the beige interior nicely but I'm not entirely sure all the decals are available in gold. All the decals including the 'Designed by Gugliano' with the blue background seem to be available or work with the silver. I would also like the license plate holder. I think I would go black with either gold or silver SVX writing. Anyone out there with a Teal SVX that has made the decision one way or the other. I want to keep any decoration to the car subtle and classy in line with the car's design...
Thanks and sorry for asking so many questions for what seems like a simple decision but I value your opinions and don't want to cheapen a classy car.

I think I might like an italdesign logo that would go inside the window.
I have always loved svxcess' frosted awd sticker. To me, it added a great touch of class since its not flashy but subtle. Long ago, I also remember someone on the yahoo clubs noting that it was a good way to inform anyone towing the SVX. 2-for-1. I also love the SVX decals on John's center caps and plan on figuring a way to do something similar myself (sorry John, I'm such an unoriginal thinker!)
