There is also what can pretty much be considered an electric Elise coming out which was of course engineered by Lotus engineers and going to be manufactured by Brabus called the Tesla Roadster.

Also the whole issue with batteries having to weigh several tons in order to power an electric automobile for more than several miles has been worked on or re-invented by a very paranoid but engenious inventor based on a very simple concept.
