checking struts?

is there any way to check the condition (good or dead) struts while they are off the car? what would i be looking for?

Check for any leaking first...then I'd check for a pulse and flash a light on the seals to see if they are dialated...lol

squish them if the come back up on their own they are still good...

I doubt he'd be heavy enough to "squish" a strut that is off the car.

It's actually really easy to squish IF the spring is removed first. You probably knew that, but just to clarify

Yeah, I know. But from what darkness told me, They sound like they still have springs on them. I could be wrong though.

i guess we'll find out. i'm going down to check them out next monday. i know one of my struts have leaked.. but my car seems to sit low on the opposite corner?

I remember when Tom took my old ones out. I just pushed it in by hand and it never came back out again until I flipped the strut upside down or pulled it out by hand
