Talking So, there was this Skyline

I know stories about street racing are not permitted here, but bear with me. I was out this past Friday night at the illegal "street races" in Idaho. With "street races" being in quotations I am implying that the so called races are just a big car freak get together out in the middle of no where, with the occasional race.

So on this night of uneventfulness, a Nissan Skyline R-33 GT-R with New York plates showed up. After everyone was done ooooogling over its radiant beauty, I approached and asked if anyone wanted to race him. His reply was yeah and he also informed me that he backed down from every last offer to race because he would lose. I offered a bargain. A rolling start from 45 against the good ol' SVX. After a moment of ponder, he reluctantly accepted my offer.

I head down the vacant desert road, and prepare for my race. Five minutes go by and no Skyline. I drive back to see what the hold up is and I am informed that someone just called him and he has to leave.

Long story made a little bit shorter, he left, therefore forfieting, and I win.

TeH SvX CaN NeVaR LoSe!!1!!!1!!1!!!1!!!1!!

Just for the record, there was no illegal activity at all this night.

Steering column on the left side by any chance...? Interior that look too suspiciously similar to that of a 240sx or a (God forbid) Civic?

Nope, not a knock off. RHD with the RB26DETT motor in the engine bay. He said the only reason he would lose is because his boost is slow. The car is all stock and kicks in at 4500 rpm. For what ever reason, winner by default.

His boost is slow or low? Maybe he meant he has a boost leak?

Or maybe he's a good poker player...

There's a Skyline here with the same problem (slow boost). He runs in the 12's in the straights but I'm way faster than him on the auto-x courses.

Stock Skylines really not that fast. And now that R32s are legal in Canada, they're like arses - everyone has one.

Either way, my point is that I won against a Skyline because he backed out. The SVX isn't that fast. But, I'm sure if we raced, he would have won. I would consider it an honor to lose to a Skyline

This is partialy true. Yes the skylines are not fast cars. Especialy the R32's. However skyline GT-R's are. They might not amazing from the factory, emmisions/engine management reasons, but for a cheap computer upgrade you will have what you think of as Skyline performance. Personally I kinda want a Stagea.

MMMMMMMM Stagea.......... The current Modified Magazine has one putting down 1015HP with out the NOS. The havnt dyno'd it with NOS yet. It's a Stagea 260RS Autech Version which is basicly a GT-R Wagon. It was built in limited numbers by a outside company, kind of like Shelby does to Mustangs.

I passed a burgandy Skyline on the way to work today. It was burning oil/smoking. Doesn't look like it had a very nice life (have any?)

The only Skyline I have driven was Paul Walkers (you guys can figure that one out) and it was pretty sweet. A couple of days after we put on his Prodrive wheels he crashed it (not our fault)
