Pearl White Bankstown

White SVX caught in Bankstown!
Spotted coming out of service station in the Condell Park area while I was driving past in the company Citroen Berlingo
He took a side street, and in the style as taught by James, I gave chase while maddly flashing the windscreen washer at him Stupid French Controls!!.
Amazingly after being followed by a madman with a car displaying all its optional extras at once, he actually pulled over, maybe to tell me how to turn off the wipers
We exchanged cards, and he was on his way, leaving me with that warm glow from having shown somebody the true way, to SUBARU-SVX.NET of course.
after all the excitement, I've forgotten his rego, I think it was
AAP-49Q ?
Lets hope he decides to join us in our merry band.
Arthur.

p.s. His name was Hafez.

I couldn't help but chuckle. I used to do something similar when switching from my 80 Spitfire to my wife's Dodge MiniVan. My kids used to laugh at me. The horn was on the end of the signal stalk on the Spitfire, so, when I was in the Van, and someone cut me off in traffic, I'd squirt my windows at them. The kids would look at me like I was off my rocker, when I'd say, "Take that, you jerk!" Then they'd realize my mistake and laugh.

Lightbulb Sorted!!

Yuse guys will be delighted to know I have just invented Empathy Paint!

It glows and pulsates in "Arrest-me Red" when you get a bout of road rage.

In saner moments, you put a dab of it on the horn push, which will, as already noted, be on a stalk or beside the console or overhead or with the window switches, anywhere but where it should be, in the centre of the steering wheel. [They musn't want us banging and thumping on the airbag, for some obscure reason ]

So, when you get excited, the Empathy Paint will glow and pulsate in a lovely angry red hue, instantly you will know the correct control to get stroppy with.

I stand to make a fortune with this in the aftermarket shops. Neither the French nor the Italians nor the Germans bother their donkey putting the controls on the correct side of the wheel for the RHD market. They even think bad of swopping the wipers over! A little dab of my paint, und alles klaar.

Might even cut short some of those "Well, stop the car and ask somebody" arguments.

Joe

Joe

What? And end a tradition that's lasted since the beginning of time.

EVE: Okay, now we've been kicked out. Which way do we go.
ADAM: I have no idea.
EVE: So why don't you ask somebody!

The empathy pain-t, is a good idea, though.

In Indiana, they've started a petition to have the dimmer switch put back on the floor where it belongs. Hoosiers keep getting their feet caught up in the steering wheel trying to dim their lights at night.

Learn well you have young Pylon500

Thats excellent - the rego is not familiar but there was a young guy in Bankstown area with a white one that was serviced at Thompson Subaru in Parramatta - the service guy there was saying that he had pranged it....and, the owner twice removed of your car (ie, the fireman) when I checked it out said that a young guy in a white SVX had come to check it out for parts and lived in the Bankstown area....wonder if it is the same person!!

G'Day James, Hey these guys crack me up
Speaking of the white SVX driver, this is either another one, or the young guy must have sold it.
This Hafez fellow would be in his late 40's and was with his wife.
As I have his card, I know who he is, but will keep that private until if and when he joins.
Might phone him one day and ask his SVX's history.
Arthur.

That would be about right, wouldn't it, James? He was YOUNG when you started looking for an SVX, but, by the time you found one, he'd be . . . .

Wink Another SVX!

Ah, the joy of SVX, and just driving around on holidays! (see if you can spot the inconsistency here)
Have just spotted another SVX in my area.
This one is silver with black top and wing, and I got the rego this time.

AKF-74W, black on white.
Was parked in an open garage, but I didn't have time to stop, was slow as a car was turning
Any knowledge of it James?
Arthur.

The inconsistency ?
There's not much joy of SVX for me as mine is still in bits, while I wait for parts.
I'm still driving my old ('91!) 4x4L, is that a Loyal ?
