Just for kicks, I did the mapquest thing to see how long it would take me to get there -- I mean, I'm always dreaming that, one day, I can make a West Coast/Northwest Meet. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be up for a 39 hour drive this weekend. Darn! I will do it one day, though.

Aaawwh! Come on. You can take a 15 minute break after the first 19 hours and still make it in well under 40 hours.

Hmm... I'm interested in going, but I may not be able to make it, not sure of my schedule yet...

It sounds really enticing though... I'm in Sacramento, and the trip shouldn't take too long....

Ergh, still debating... I might just try and make it. If anyone else is coming from the Sac area, let me know, and maybe we can form a convoy down there.

Hmmm. If I do come to Cali, I will probably come to Sacramento. It's the only place I have friends I could stay with.

Hey Red,

KENM has said that he's going and he is from Sac (see his post on the first page about 3/4 of the way down). You might want to contact him directly. I don't know anything about him. Although I would probably be safe in assuming his name is Ken.

Hope to see you there. Let us know.

Cheers,
Matt

Ahh, damn, just realized another problem. Seems that I'll need someone to act as my "guardian" at D&B's and hold my hand inside, since I'm such a youngin, I almost forgot. Geez, old enough to go to war, but not old enough to drink or go to D&B's.

Bay Area Meet

Hmmmm............... good point. How old do you have to be to go to D&B. I am 18, is that old enough?

If not...... oh well I'll just enjoy staying in the car....lol

Looks like we'll be hanging around with some young punks!

zamorush & Red SVX 92...
They will let you into D&B if you are under 21 as long as you are an accompanied by an adult over 25. Luckly I'm an old fossil (i.e. over 30), so I can be your "Guardian". Let's meet at the main outside entrance (NOT the one in the mall) and then go in. I don't want to give out my cell phone over the net, so send an e-mail to me at nordique14@yahoo.com and I'll e-mail you back with my cell number. You can then call if there's any problems.

Matt

It looks like the fog won't let up here in the valley in time to make it by 11AM from Sacramento.

Keep me posted on the next meet!

*raises eyebrow*

Fog won't let up? How about this... let's meet up and go down there in a convoy... If you're not comfortable with the fog, I can lead. If you go, I'll go.

And nordique14, check your PMs.

The end of the Meet

Hope eveyone came home alright, and it was nice meeting everyone.

I got 2 cracks-dents on my weendshield from this trip, and some good memories. LOL

PS. Red SVX 92, you should have taken the 280 from 17, since it changes into 680 later.

nik

Thanks to all who came out for the meet. Hopefully eveyone got home okay. I know I learned few new things and meet some good folks. Definately an interesting mix of cars and people. Pleasure to meet you all.

It wasn't a huge meeting, but we did get a half dozen SVXs together. A foggy morning turned into a sunny day in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I don't have time for a full write up yet (and probably won't until later in the week). I'll have to collect the pics from everyone and put together a proper web page when I get a chance. But I have uploaded the pics I took. Take a look.

We kind of discussed another meeting. Proabably sometime late April or early May if we get enough interest in having one during that time frame.

Take care all and hope to see you again.

Cheers,
Matt

FANTASTIC! The pics were great! Glad to see you folks on the West coast finally getting together. I would venture a guess that you've discovered that it ain't all about the cars. Sure wish I could've been there. Hope to see you all that the 10th Anniversary Meet!
