Weird starting problem
I have a weird starting problem that has occcured maybe 5 times in the last 2 weeks. It Always happens when the engine is already hot like when i shut it off to get gas or something else similiar. I turn the key over and I just get a click. It might do 2 times or I have had to wait 5 minutes or so to try it again. It seems almost random with how infrequent it is. When the starter turns over it always starts up immediatly. Im pretty sure its not an alternator or battery. Any help is appreciated.

When the issue occurs try placing the gearshift in Neutral and see if it starts. This will help differentiate between the inhibitor switch and the rest of the system.

I just read a thread that were this was caused by a split battery terminal. My battery terminals are in awful condition. This problem only started after I put in a lightweight battery and I actually damaged the terminals worse getting them on the battery. Maybe this is my problem also.

definately spend the $3 to get new terminals... mine were crap on my acura, and had very similar problems... also, when this "issue" happens... bang on the terminals to knock any corrosion off, and immediately try afterwards, that was my temporary fix for a bit...
