They need to make new ones, the older ones have been depleted. Good news for us!

Where did you purchase them from?

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

put in the brand new rear struts, front ball joints, inner and outer tie rods.

bought the struts from my local suby dealer. the rear struts also had a date from this year and they don't appear to be old parts. from my understanding if they were simply repackaged this year then there would be two dates, one for the date of manufacture and the other when it was repackaged.

i will probably take them back out in about a year and make sure they are still good. i replaced the ball joints and tie rods just because i was already doing enough suspension work to need an alignment. if anyone wants the old parts (except struts... i have some ideas to match them with others) let me know.

Yesterday I dropped off my Delta Speed side skirts, 97 grille, and trunk lid off at the body guy. Filling the spoiler holes on the lid and painting everything to match.

Started it and drove it for the first time in 3 months ...

It's in such good shape. I love this car ... feels like no other I've ever driven.

17 year love affair.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Mostly finished the sub woofer box for the trunk. We got a good price on a cheap 12" sub and tried to follow the recommended volume for best response. Final outside dimensions about 33"X7"X14". Used 3/4" MDF and covered it with the same vinyl we used on interior pieces. Not cutting edge but should do the job.

This was the second attempt as the first had vinyl problems at the sharp corners. Solved by router-ing a 1/2" radius on the long edges.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Made a quick video of my exhaust today. It's a short vid, but I didn't want to irritate my neighbors. I'll try to get one in a more open location soon.

I also picked up this little gem, for my next frankenpipes exhaust project -

It's an '11+ SPT exhaust for a wrx hatch. A little cut and paste to move the pipes/tips out further, and we should be in business. May be replacing the main cat with a spintech 2-to-1 muffler, or just going the high-flow route. I'm still unsure.

Started it up in -1 deg temp. It turned over maybe 4 times and fired up.. These are winter cars. Fur shur!
FYI I think the 5 speed set up is even better in deep snow. Just passed a plow that was stuck on a hill.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Installed a new battery today and cleaned up the terminals and ground. Nice to see it starting up strong again. We have had a cold winter but today we hit a warm spell and it went up to 50 degrees, so I washed all the salt and grim off the SVX, and spent some cleaning up the engine bay. It is probably going to rain tomorrow but at least for now it looks great.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Repaired my wipers. It's been major deep freeze here for the past week with 2 ice storms. I must have left the wipers on when I shut off the car. The next day when I started it up to get some heat on the windshield one wiper broke free and the other didn't. Luckily just a matter of loosening the nuts on the blades, re-positioning them and tightening them up again. Thank goodness we got a mild day.

Can you post some photos of the backup camera? I'm in need of one for my MB Sprinter.
