Re: BRZ vs Miata

It's official. I'm # 3 on the list at fairway for a galaxy blue silica 6MT limited BRZ.

Now the wait begins. And the stockpiling of maintenance parts begins for the SVX. First thing I am doing is pulling the motor, resealing and cleaning everything I can. Have tie rod ends on the way already (they are original still!)

Congratulaions!! I was wondering, were you able to test drive or sit in one first? I know I'll be looking to buy one in 2-3 years when they start coming off leases.

good for you! did they give you a date as to when it will be delivered? Did they work with you on price at all or did you have to pay full list for it? Kind of curious how this all works with subaru. Congrats!

Re: BRZ vs Miata

Congrats, I can't wait for your review! I plan on being on the list for the turbo model

Seriously, there's already talk of perhaps slipping a 1.6L turbo motor in there, which would give all that great handling something to, well, handle...

I look forward to hearing your reviews of it when you get it.

I'm surprised anyone ordered one of these given what we have heard about how technologically inferior, ugly and unreliable Subaru cars are today.

If only Mitsubishi (for their beautiful styling) and Jaguar (for their awesome reliability and quality) would create a joint venture...that would be the ultimate!!!

There's a moron born every day and someone needs to sell them cars. That explains how Pontiac sold the Aztec and the same reason why Subaru sells the Tribeca, Outcrap, and just finished with the BAHA.:

Glad you had luck with your subaru. My last was so bad I still have a bad taste in my mouth from it and that awesome reliability and quality it had (if your comparing it to a Model T that is) If Subaru still made cars like my EA81 I would still have one. Sadly, they don't so I'm more than content with being the owner of the oldest Fuji product this side of the pond in my 58 Rabbit.

Don't worry, you'll get burnt by Subaru soon enough.

Re: BRZ vs Miata

The pre-order was basically getting on a waiting list. No papers were signed. They have no idea when mine or the other 2 they are allocated will show up. They told me it could be in a few months or it could be october.
They don't have one yet on the lot and they don't expect to keep any on the lot if they did get one. Demand is much higher than supply at this point. Still, I'm not worried about price gouging - we have a good relationship with this dealership and they are great to work with.

A little more HP would be nice, but I think I'll be pleased with what it has considering I'll be going from 230 hp @ 3600 lbs to 200 hp @ 2700 lbs. Should be a fun ride. I don't drag race as it is so I don't plan to with this one.

I'm still puzzled why you keep coming back to a subaru forum just to crap all over them. I remember drinking beers with you at reading many years ago and you seemed to be a nice guy.
