Just a curiosity :
Believe it or not:
Quiet at any speed ( not if you count the screaming passengers and pedestrians )
And that brake shoe / muffler lifetime guarantee paid off.

If he got it as a grad gift brand new in 28, I'm guessing the family wasn't struggling for money. Just a bit of a help in keeping something like that maintained and worked on for that amount of time.

I have owned the same motorcycle, a 1971 R 75/5 BMW, since 1971, forty one years ago.
Don't know if I will make it eighty two years but if I do, I hope I can still ride it - I will only be 104.
