(video) something is DEFINITELY wrong

okay, i've been having a sticky driver's seat belt for the past year, i've simply wiggled it and got used to it. today, don't know if it had to do with the fact that it was 80 outside, but the cord that pushes and pulls the seatbelt came clear out the back of the column that holds the seatbelt and out the back window. the seatbelt is stuck down, and it still does latch, so driving isn't dangerous and the cord retracts when driving. has this happened to anyone?! i'm off work tomorrow so i guess i'll be taking it apart... any suggestions on what this could be? also, what the easiest way to disconnect the power to the driver's seat belt? i'm content with leaving it manual for now if this is going to be a huge ordeal.

here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqSpCHUT0jM

thanks for the help guyz

I've never seen that happen before, but I'd bet you're going to need a new seat belt assembly. I probably have one if you want it. It's really easy to install.

I would replace the seatbelt motor/assy if I were you. It's not terribly hard. I have one I would be delighted to sell you. Came from my pristine 73000 mile car.

Re: (video) something is DEFINITELY wrong

well i'm relieved that it's not too difficult and not too expensive. how would i disconnect the power to that one seatbelt? i don't want that cord to keep popping out of there and make something worse. is it that green (or purple?) plug underneath the back seat and side panel?
