Angry Bye Bye Power Steering

well today after a round of waxing and washing and sparkling...i went to move to a power outlet so i could vacum, and it was really hard to steer and the stee-ring light came on if you know what i mean....after moving i noticed a dark spot on my driveway, it is either from the power steering or the water i used to wash the car the night before. all i know now is that im stuck with a yellow beetle until the dealer can look at my car, and however long after it takes them to fix it. appt. is for next thurs.

Pete, Have you taken a look at it? It might be something you can fix. eg: save $, bond with the car.

Most common (in my experience) is a hose. I lost one in my car. It won't cost too much to fix, but it'll cost you WAY less to do yourself.

If you lost fluid that quickly and found a puddle, I'm guessing that the o-ring isn't to blame. Replace it while the system is empty, sure, but I still bet it's a hose.

If I'm not mistaken, a break in the low-pressure return lines wouldn't necessarily drain the reservoir.
