Giugiaro Badge Revisited

So a while ago I was fishing around the older threads and saw a few Giugiaro badge threads that were really interesting. This thread shows most of the badges that have made it onto some of our cars:

http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=49999

I thought that the Eagle Premier/Dodge badge worked the best considering the era of the SVX. I think the Maserati badge is good looking but might be a bit to modern for the SVX. So I started to do a bit of research and came across this badge:

The top one is a thicker plastic style and the lower is a thin stainless metal plate.

What do you guys think of these? Seems to fit the era nicely (if not a tad earlier). I think it would look good on the lower panel in front of the rear wheel on the side of the car (Pininfarina style). Or maybe on the rear panel to the right of the trunk...

Re: Giugiaro Badge Revisited

Those look pretty fair David. I'm not too excited about the Ital Design lead in however. I have a pair of the Maserati emblems and like them, but was unaware of the Dodge emblems that Green 1995SVX used in his front grill. Now I LIKE that one!! Looked on line and found them for about $5.50 apiece. Thanks for dragging that thread back, as I missed it!!!

Re: Giugiaro Badge Revisited

Dodgeparts.com. Googled Dodge Parts and tried first choice. Actually $5.40 apiece, with min $9.95 S&H, but I was unable to access their purchasing system for some reason. Guess I'll try the 1-888-831-3664 number Monday.

That looks almost (if not) identical to the Maserati badge.

The top emblem (which is currently on my car) is the new design Giugiaro emblem, used on the new Alfas and the Fiat Punto. The blue is brighter and ecerything is encased in a clear acrylic.

The Fiat/Lancia dealer can get them, the part no. is 0735402489. They are also available on ebay Germany HERE for #13.22 each plus shipping.

The bottom emblem (which used to be on my car) is from the 2004 Masarti Spyder GT. It is a thin brushed aluminum plate with a transparent dark blue applied overtop.

The Maserati part no. is 67027100. The list price is $10.89

I have sets of both, but I prefer the top one. They are both the same size overall

My original thread for these started HERE.

Here is a photo of the old emblem on my car. One of the reasons I changed it was the color became dull and faded over time.

I like the Maserati emblem but the problem I have with it is that it is too modern for the era of our cars and to me seems like an add on. I am trying to find something that feels more in line with when our cars were in production. That is why I like the Dodge Eagle emblem the best.

I would still like to get some feedback on the ItalDesign emblem I posted at the start of the thread. I might be able to get the same emblem without the "ItalDesign" logo part of it. What do you guys think of maybe something like that?

I understand that, plus, I would like to know what the first emblem is. In my opinion, SVXCESS car is modern-looking enough and, in pure perfection, wears the emblem well.

Re: Giugiaro Badge Revisited

You want an older emblem? Go back to 1968 and look at the Bizzarrini Manta emblem.

Or in a contest of a beautiful car with an ugly emblem, here is my vote

Re: Giugiaro Badge Revisited

I'm with rojorocket here, I don't really care for the lead in on the ital design. It certainly feels a lot more 80s-ish with all the lines than what should be on the SVX, but that's just my personal opinion. Then again, I don't have any extra emblems on mine and not sure I will ever add one.

I do like the look of the brighter blue somewhat embossed looking emblem however, though I'm not sure it warrants almost $15.
