You might just see a rwd ER27 powered 360 in the not so distant future. At least the shell would be a 360, can't say so much for the drivetrain structure

And to finish the Brickling / Lamm story. Mr lamm took over soa after bricklin went off to make his own car of misfortune. It was Harvey Lamm who designed the XT COUPE(an american car for an american market was his idea) which is known in Japan as a 1st generation alcyone, which led to the birth of the beloved alcyone svx as subaru took over soa in 91-92. The XT in xt coupe stood for cross platform(X) touring(T)(instead of gt for grand touring) as the xt was advertised as the first sports car you could take on or off road. Just the truth behing the origin of the alcyone!

For a little more history on Subaru in the USA and the failed advertising campaign that launched our SVX, check out: Where the Suckers Moon: The Life and Death of an Advertising Campaign
It's been a few years since I read it, but it was fascinating to get a "behind the curtain" look at SOA which is actually HQ'd about 3 miles from me.

This is interesting information. I was unaware the XT was designed in the States.

With the XT I have a love/hate relationship. Apologies to any fans, I just can't get on with the origami curvaciousness of it On the other hand, for sure it has wonderful chassis perforrmance and dynamics, particularly when measured against its contemporaries. For real and for certain it was the test bed that led to our beloved SVX's being the competent machines they are.

Did you know your car's nick-name came from the Irish for the month of August? The word in Irish is Lunasa, although spelled a little differently. The connotation derives from the full moon, and the cyclic effect this was known to have on mental patients in institutions, and the word lunacy stuck.

Hell, it's alittle slower than the Rabbit... But I'd still drive it
