Can trunk lid fit inside SVX?
Is there enough cargo room inside an SVX with the seats folded down to haul a complete trunk lid if the lid is turned sideways?

It can even go in with both front seats in use.

Should be....are you going to try for us?? LOL
Try putting the back seat down, sliding the pass. seat forward and then reclining it all the way too. Cover the front seat of course first. |

Thanks! And the unasked question: No, I haven't had an accident. I want to 2-tone my Laguna. So in one option I can paint my existing trunk lid deck black. In the other option, I can buy a black or 2-tone lid, and paint the back of it blue. I just wanted to know that if I choose option 2, I'll be able to haul the lid.

I figured you were hinting at the 2 tone idea we were tossing around while you stopped in Philly. Well good luck and let us all know how it works out

Tom, Yes, I should know! The problem is that I thought that lid was disassembled. The way I remeber it (and I could be mistaken, especially since it was so dark), the back section of the lid was missing. If I did remember correctly, then I've got a larger vertical dimension to deal with. And If I get one with a spoiler, then that dimension increases even more.

So far the Laguna's doing just fine! except that when I was following you down the turnpike to Reading, a pebble smacked my windshield. The next morning, before I got back on the highway, I noticed a crack had formed! It's about a foot long and more vertical than horizontal, but It's on the passenger side. It was able to pass inspection, though. I had it sealed, but it's still visible. The ironic thing is that I had just replaced the cracked windshield in my claret (after 2.5 years) before it went into the transmission shop! And that windshield came from a laguna.
Tom replaced the solenoid, and his diagnostic came up clear. I've run the same diasgnostic you did myself, and I don't get any codes. It still shifts rougher than my claret, though. And when I shift it into drive from park (via neutral), it usually doesn't catch right away. If I take the selector down past 3rd before stopping at drive, I don't have that problem. This last idiosyncrasy may not be transmission related, but I've noticed that when I'm sitting stopped on an upslope in drive, the car will roll backwards when I let off the break. |
