SVX 15th Aniv Meeting in Japan Photos

I found link. Thought it'd be nice to share with you all.

129 SVXs, 190 people came to one place in Japan. I don't know how many SVXs still alive in Japan, (less than 2000?) but this is pretty amazing thing, and I just really wished I could go to this event..

All Japan SVX Meeting

I think I can find the link to the video too.. I can't find it now. I will get back.
Let me know if above link isn't working.

Yep. I noticed it Mike. Looks like a lot of mad hard piping. A lot to be said for a neat supercharger install.

Hey, I dunno about that. Did you see the size of the big mother of a turbo they had in place? It looked to me like one of those 500 to 650 hp ones you sometimes see around.

Not too small anyway.

Better check your glasses. That thing isnt any biger than the stock unit I have sitting on my Conquest. Cant be pushing more then 14psi. and then only if it has aftermarket ecu and fuel components.

Yeah, it's not too big, use the alternator as a size reference.
...and could they get it any closer to the fuel lines

I DO need my glasses checked.

Maybe it's not all that big.

Colour/model breakdown.

Just as an interest to see what colours the JDM market likes, compared to Europe here, or the USA, I checked on the preponderance of different colours. This is what I found from a total of 121 individual cars pictured:

Silver..........50
Claret..........15
Black...........14
Burgundy......11
Green...........10
White...........7
Red..............6
Blue..............4
Graphite.........4

It is practically impossible to see which green cars are teal and which are polo unless you see them side by side in a photo.

I did not include Claret and Burgundy as reds. Reds as listed are bright reds. Of the reds, 5 are black and mica, one is red all over. That makes this particular red car the rarest of this Japanese bunch. They must not be as fond of red as you guys are in the US. [Red cars are pretty rare in the UK as well]

What is most noticable is the huge preponderance of silver. Of the 50 cars, 29 are the silver-all-over brighter silver of the post 94 cars. There are 16 of the early 3-tone cars, and 5 that look like silver and black.

I'm wondering if our Japanese friends are fond of silver in a coupe? Or are they conscious of the fact that Giugiaro tends to present his style models very often in silver, or silver with a black roof? Curious, isn't it?

It is also strange that there are only 7 white cars. Importing cars from Japan to Ireland, one of the problems is the large numbers of white cars they tend to have on the second hand market. White cars are deeply unliked here, they could languish in a car sales yard for months or years. Still, there are only seven at this big meeting. Strange.

Joe

I really wanted a blue or black when I got into SVX, now I like silver.

I'd like to know where they got that nice looking radiator in that turbo SVX. That thing looks very thick.

I don't know so much about that white wide body SVX either. That was one of the mysterious SVX we are all talking about. Hope my friend can tell me a lot about that car.
I can't even find that owner's website or anything like that.

Did you notice that the red SVX is left hand drive? It's imported back to Japan from US..
There's no Brilliant Red SVX in Japan.

Silver is popular..because those are later year models when Subaru was down pricing the SVX with limited editions called S3, S40, S40II. They all had bright silver.
Also had Bordeaux Pearl, green color called Bight green pearl and deeper Blue color called Peacock Blue met.(I don't believe it's Laguna Blue Pearl )

I'll post some those JP catalogue pictures soon.
