See my post #40, 2nd page, of this thread:

http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...ht=rx-8+wheels

They are 18"x8", 114.3mm bolt circle, a 50mm offset. I don't know what the center bore measurement or the weight of the wheel, but the fact that they are pictured on the svx, I am sure that hub rings can be found.

Speaking of RX8, there is a really nice burgundy RX-8 colour which looks more like a metalic candy apple red.

I found this BEAUTIFUL photo on a German website (but the car appears to be RHD)

It should be Bordeaux Pearl, but it looks too dark and rich...
It could be Claret, but the interior appears to be beige... anyway ENJOY!

It does look a little dark for a Bordeaux, but is very nice. The wheels look good too.

I missed the voting but heres my input, I think Ebony Mica over Ruby Mica would look nice. What kind of tweaking would you do to the Ruby Mica though?

Darker colors show more imperfections. Complex colors are harder to match in the event of an accident (or rock chips). Metallic colors are difficult to apply in even color coats. A case can be made for nearly any color if it is your favorite. Pick your favorite and go for it. My favorite: Infiniti's steel black over Volvo's Saffron. There's no accounting for taste.

Hell yeah. Don't ask us what looks good, you already know what you want, and I'm sure it'll look good (as long as you don't go to Maaco )

Holy revival batman!

To mr. Excess- Good find. That gives Mike621 a good idea of what his car will look like all claret with tan interior (Thumbs up btw)

to odepaj- Tweaking the ruby mica would consist of very little. Mabey a bit chunkier of a pearl for a mroe dramatic flop, or a heavier metallic.

to PDSides- (Complex colors) Lol, tell me about it....Colormatching is my job! Its especially difficult when your colormatching technolagy is lifted from the old testament. Im not concerned with metallic colors' inherent spray sensitivity, as Ill be entrusting the actual painting to an anal retentive painter with 15 years experiance and a magazine car under his belt. All the prep work will be done by an equally anal retentive prep work guy....Me.

to Alcyone Daze- No worrying about maaco here

Since this thread has been started, I have totalled the car I was plannign to paint. It would have required more than its fair share of body filler for dings. On top of that it the paint had more chips than frito-lay. I have since picked up a new daily driver svx that I wanted to paint in a diffrent scheme. Unfourtunantly...There was already two body shops on it...One that did a GREAT job, but skimped out on materials..and another that was obviously clueless. To go over their work would require more effort than a daily drivng R-title car is worth. I am now in possesion of a black svx that I'd like to make flawless. Unfourtunantly..its black, so thats impossible. It'd be easier to repaint it than to make it meet my obsessive standards (If you have ever looked at black the way I have, you would probly go insane)Luckily, this is a great color change canidate! It has all of two dings...It has a few rock chips, but nothing too major..and best of all, its 90% original (There was a well done repair on the door that I trust I can work with)

If I can budget it, the car is going the proper swiss ruby mica with the ebony mica as the black. Of course, thatll be after other things

Next time, I'll check the dates. Good choice on the ebony mica over ruby mica . I have an ebony '92 with paint swirls all over it, but I love it the same.

Fixed your post. The S40 had the normal 5 spoke wheels in pale silver.

That car looks to be a JDM S4 to me. Certainly it is not German or English, it has no nozzles for the headlights pressure washers.
Also it has the square [ish] Japanese number plate shape. Euro front plates are long and narrow, all information on one line.

The colour is sure to be Bordeaux, and it highlights for me an inherent problem with the colour tone in photos in general and digitial shots in particular. Both of the Bordeax shots on this page look completely different.

The one next the silver from the brochure looks red and vibrant, while the German shot looks almost deep enough to be Claret. No doubt stood side by side and eyeballed, they would look the same. With no disrespect to Bordeaux owners, in real life Bordeaux looks "flatter" than either of these pictures.

Likewise for the Ruby Mica colour. I happen to also think it is gorgeous, but it is one of those colours that also renders different with every camera, every different light situation. In Real Life, Ruby Mica can look like it has a lot of pink. No harm in that, but I do suspect it will look its very best with the black roof and boot lid [or Ebony Pearl! ]
