Idle RPM's?

Ok, due to a fluctuating idle, I just cleaned my TPS and MAF, and got the TPS back on exactly where it needed to be. Awhile ago, I tried to do the idle adjustment with the throttle wires, and got it to where it needed to be. But now that my TPS and MAF are clean, I think the wires might be too taught, because now my RPM's in park are about 1500 (which I know is way too high), and my RPMS while stopped in drive are about 900. Can someone please tell me what setting I should put my idle at, and when I do the wire adjustment, should the car be in park or stopped in drive?

Give the car about 3 drive cycles to automatically adjust the idle again.
