Here's peeping at you, kid.
Peeple.
OK, I am no longer offended. Like paddles sez, on my JDM model, it is blank, just like yours. The sequence is hazard, defog, blank. The JDM ones do not have the same security system as the US, so I am presuming that caused a blank switch position also. Mine has no door unlock button on the console, nor beside the wheel. It would be a seriously useful thing to have, and you have just given me the idea to fit it. Thanks for the idea. On the English spec car, to the left of the wheel is Hazard, defog and headlight wash. This last one is the one you are wondering about. On the rhs of the wheel in that car is blank, cruise and rear foglights. [Incidentally, on the JDM car which has no cruise, these switches are blank, blank and front foglights.] The English car does not have a switch for front fogs, because the glass headlights in the UK and in Germany, probably in all of Europe, have no lights in the third inner position, only a silvered blank plate to make it look like there was something behind the lens. This is something I hope to change in my glass lights. It's difficult to understand why these were left out of the glass lights. If asked to guess, I imagine there may be rules in some of the markets [German TuV maybe?] that do not allow fogs beside headlamps, or three in a row or something. Otherwise, it just seems a silly oversight. Joe

This file that shows how to remove your dash was done in a non-us model svx and shows the button that is to the left of the hazards and defog.

Maybe that car is Canadian? It's definitely LHD.
On either side, the switch we are discussing is showing as front fog and rear fog. I seem to remember the Canada model had the front fogs down as daytime running lights. Joe

Wasn't there some talk of it being the button for the abandoned seat heater option?

I have disasembled the swichs and it is not easy to add a swich to the blank.
There are no wires in there. If you remove the blank cover the swich does push in, but it does not stay in. I have found a way to get a small swich in side there, but I don't think it can take a load without melting and would be eazy to brake. I'll have to get some pics tomaro night.

German/European
Quote:
The car is Euro spec, has the kilometres clock. In my defense, the picture is so out of focus, it's hard to see the logo on that button. Looking closely at the two pictures, the button to the left of the rear screen defog is the "squirter", the power wash button for the headlights. The headlight part is easy to discern, but you can see where the water jet is depicted squirting up at the lights. German car would be my guess. Joe
