If it beats the ford, I wish I was a GT40, GT then it will shake up the media. It will cost less then the GT. It will kill the viper. The ME Four-Twelve is in Lambo/Ferrari/Porsche territory. GM should have gone forward with the Cadillac Cien supercar. Better prestige then a Chevy.

The new vette is probably one of the nicest cars I've ever seen for the price.

You really can't go wrong.

The average age of the Corvette demographic is over 50, probably closer to 55. The average weight is probably 250. The average girth? "Welcome to Macdonald's - do you want to supersize it for a nickle?"

The 2002 WRX had awesome lower hip bolsters, as did the 2003. In 2004, all of the WRX'i including the Sti got a much flatter bottom seat cushion with less bolstering. Why? Cuz average Americans are a bunch of FAT ASSES!

The same applies to the Mitsu EVO 8. The rest of the world got killer Recaro's whereas the Americans got a dumbed down version so that AVERAGE JOE would fit in it.

Until our culture drops a collective trillion pounds (and keeps them off), we will continue to slip and slide around in the larger seats offered in our USDM cars. Sad, but true.

Good point gsodonis. I remember reading that Mitsu and Subaru had to bring some pretty large bucket seats to the US market so that drivers here could fit in them.

Either way, the new Z06 will be cornering at over 1.0 lateral g's. Those adjustable side bolsters help some, but are still inadequate.

Have you ever ridden in a car with these? They really do hold you in.

If you plan on pulling that many G's regularly, you get racing seats. Not crappy Konigs out of an R32 that just look nice. Real seats that you adjust exactly to your particular body.

I haven't ridden in a C6 vette, but if you're talking about the adjustable bolsters on the C5 then yes. The side bolsters helped some but the cheap & slick leather caused your arse to slide around in the seat in tight corners.

I cross-shopped '01 Z06's with the SVT Lightning back in early 2002. I ended up buying the Lightning...

Hey, the 450 ft-lbs of torque on the Lightning just won me over!

I think 0-60 in 4 seconds flat and a body that actually looks fast is kinda hard to pass up (in that scenario). But I guess that's just me.

The '01 Z06's weren't that fast from what I've heard...even though any Z06 of any MY can move like stink.

The Lightning just had more utility and was the perfect vehicle for me at the time. I have no regrets after owning one...

If speed meant everything to me, I would have switched to an EVO or STI after trading in my Lightning. However, I'm perfectly happy driving my low 15 sec SVX.
