Significant Technical Input
Bad u-joints will make a vibration under acceleration, not decel - if they do it wopuld be the first time I've heard of it thirty-four years.

Axial play (up and down across the yoke) isn't good, it would cause a vibration, accel or decel. Think of it as two off-center shafts, spinning together.

Radial play (where the cross of the joint slops around sideways in the cups) will cause the accel vibration.

Of course the driveline shop would say staked-in joints can't be repaired, they make more money building a rebuildable shaft...

Be certain when bleeding 'uphill' that the cylinders aren't tipped in such a manner that air may be trapped at the far end from the line at the slave or the end next to the line at the master. Think about it, you'll see what I mean. However, since it worked for you the first time, you should have equal success this time.

I'm getting serious hesitation from 3000 to 4000 rpms' in every gear. Soon as i hit 4000 its like I have vtec or something and the car comes alive....I've cleaned the throttle bodies as of today and double sealed all the areas where the hoses conect on the intake track. If any of you all have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. I also have a very leaky exhaust but I don't recall there ever being a power surge such as this. Quite odd. Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

Not sure how to check it. Probably best to see how its recommended in the factory service manual.

crank walk for sure ;(

Alright guys well i decided to check the crank to see if it was out of spec and it came back at .020-.024" which is obviously way way out of spec...Now i know i need to replace the thrust bearings #5 right? Does anyone know if I have to drop the engine for this procedure? I would figure so since its horizontally opposed but i havent ever taking the oil pan off so i dont know. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
