transmission repair question

Has anyone had experince replacing the differential case on the 4EAT transmission? I have a good tranny with a cracked case. How difficult is the job? any tips? anything????

it's relatively straight forward - pull the tranny and pull off the diff. You will have some more issues if the riing & pinion got damaged. To set it back up, you will need to know how to set the gears so they mesh correctly.

There is a writeup in my locker on the transmission that is big (for a dial-up user) that has the assembly disassembly instructions. Part 2 has disassembly, part 3 has reassembly info.
