Thumbs up

I do, but I only watch games in the ACC conference. I graduated from UVA (Class of '00) and we're like #12 in the country right now (AP poll). Miami will be a tough team to beat.

Which school do you think is going to be the bowl champion this year?

I think Oklahoma might be the team this year. They collapsed late last year so we'll see. I'm glad LSU lost, didn't like them. I'm also glad the NCAA is keeping Mike Willimas off of the USC team. I think if a player on a scholarship leaves early for pro sports, they have to pay back all the money they used plus 15% to cover the teams expenses for the trouble and money they spent getting him in the first place.

No one from the ACC. They basically screwed themselves by adding Miami and VT plus a chamionship game. Only way a team from the ACC gets there in the next 15 years is if the rest of the conf. bites and there aren't any undefeated teams in the country.

I watch college football. Being from Kentucky, basketball season is the number one season, however, I married a girl from Nebraska so's I had someone to root for during the football season. That, of course, for the past three seasons, hasn't been all that exciting. It's sad, when a powerhouse (or should I say "former powerhouse") like Nebraska, get's beaten by a C-USA team.

Randy, Nebraska might be on the way back with Bill Callihan in charge. They could have done worse. My best friend graduated from Big Red in 1994. I'm still a Michigan fan.

Alot of shakeups recently in the top 25. There are now 5 teams from the Big Ten (which has 11 teams) in the top 18. Notre Dame should join the Big Ten, call it the Great Lakes Confrenece and split into two division of 6 and have a championship game, like the Big 12.

They already make more than they would if they were in the Big Ten, played in the championship and played for the national title each year from their TV contract. Besides, now they don't get beat to heck by everyone else in the Big Ten before playing in a Bowl.

I thought I'd look back and see how my predictions went. I was pretty close on most of them. If i could pick the ponies this well, I'd have a gold plated SVX!

I think that is a very poor statement. You have no idea why he was trying to go to the pros, maybe his family lives in the projects and he saw a way to get them out of there. He may have been doing it for the money (gee, that never happens in pro sports), one thing you can't do is argue that the guy wasn't talented enough, because I guarantee he would have been one heck of a player. (Clarett on the other hand, I am not so sure about!)

I say the NFL either does what the NBA, MLB and NHL do, which is to allow youngins, or make them graduate. The whole 3 years removed from high school is just dumb, make it an age requirement or just let the NFL teams decide if they want to draft an 18 year old.

My .02 (which if we were in Turkey would be 28,120 Lira)

You're right, the free $50,000+ college education I couldn't afford when young isn't enough. If you want to go pro after HS and get killed, go ahead. But all athletes that accept scholarships should be required to stay for the whole 4 years (or 5 if Red Shirted) or pay back the schools expenses. They get enough of a free ride.
