I'm really not that angry, generally. Stupidity just pushes my buttons in all the right ways. Thats why I was so mad at Solar for believing that higher octane gas made him go faster, and at NikFu for believing that 500hp out of a 3.3 liter NA engine is attainable. I hate stupidity. Hate with a capital "H".

Alright, this 'hatred of stupidity' is also what makes me hate riced out cars. Scoops that don't do anything, wings that don't do anything, bodykits that slow the car down, carbon fiber OVERLAYS (it ADDS WEIGHT! wtf?! That goes against the very REASON carbon fiber is used in race cars!), heavy bling blingin rims, loud exhausts on slow cars, etc etc. It all boils down to the same thing. STUPIDITY. And man, I am partially an objectivist; I really do value REASON and LOGIC and rational thought, but freaking A. It doesn't seem to be working. I can be reasonable and logical and I'll still get STUPID who don't listen to anything and continue to be stupid. There has to be a way to make stupid people REALIZE they are stupid, and correct their ways. I don't know.

I really do not care what all those "ricers" or whatever you want to call them over at that site think about anything, but still I had to cringe when I started reading some of that discussion in the guestbook.
We in the SVX community do NOT need that kind of talk "defending" us to the rice community. Rob, some of the points you brought up over at that site were right on, maybe even all of them. But the way you presented yourself is just apalling. I mean, I guess that is the way everyone over there acts, but really, why go over there and post at all? The SVX name has been tainted, now if anyone that visits that site sees an SVX on the road they are going to think the driver is a pompous asshole. Like I said, the logical side of me doesn't really care what those kids think, but deep down I hate for anyone to think of the SVX in that light. If you had never signed up at that site in the first place, those punks would have never given a second thought to the SVX or thought about it one way or another. Instead, now they hate the car and anyone that drives one.

That's kinda the point. I want them to continue to hate the car, that way we don't see one thats all riced out.

Why do you bother? Your starting crap with people of the same caliber as their cars (ie Honda = Low class)
Your just making the rest of us look bad. You should probubly sell your SVX and get a Honda yourself. Then your car will fit you. Sorry I just find that crap annoying. You should be trying to get people to admire your car, not building a wall by slamming on theirs. If you slam on them, they'll say yours is crap even if you were cruising around in a Ferrari. |
