Plastic Pieces that hold engine cover in place
Hey guys, sorry to make a thread for this; But I have lost those black plastic clips that hold the plastic engine cover in place; I had to fix 3 vacum line collapses and misplaced theml I have tried zip ties but they do not work and it doesnt look as nice under the hood without that piece on there. Does anyone have any extra laying around or know where I can get them.
Thanks, Marc

Re: Plastic Pieces that hold engine cover in place
Advance Auto sells them or ones like them, just ask.

Re: Plastic Pieces that hold engine cover in place
Subaruparts.com has them as Part #24236AA001 at $3.28 each. I went to Lowes and found a very close match in their hardware aisle (screws, nuts etc.).

Re: Plastic Pieces that hold engine cover in place
I did the same thing. I wasn't happy with the fit of anything I found at pep-boys so I ended up buying them at the local dealer (shipping wasn't worth getting them elsewhere). They are Clip No. 7

Re: Plastic Pieces that hold engine cover in place
You can use standard plastic plugs (any Auto Parts.. but might have to hunt for this exact type/size) that have multiple fins to grab sheet metal for many body applications. BUT, they must be large.. about 3/16 inch diameter of finned post.. with a large 3/4 inch+ diam top. [I'll try to draw? EDIT: I can only draw HALF of a cross-section (centerline out)..] Hope it makes sense.. ?
