Feeling guilty
I just realized it's been almost a year since I've driven the SVX. I moved from the east coast the Las Vegas and I let the tags laps. The only thing the car needs is a battery and some fresh gas. My plan was to move back east and get new tags when I got back. I just forund out that I won't be moving east, in fact, I'm moving farther west. I'm getting stationed in San Deigo, CA. I guess I'll take the car in and get local tags here in Las Vegas. If I try to do it in Cali, it'll never pass. I'm pretty sure the ECUTune Supercharger kit doesn't exactly meet California CARB standards. My poor SVX has been so neglected lately. I haven't even been in the garage to look at it in a month........

Re: Feeling guilty
Yes, but mine sits in the garage while I drive around in my Camaro SS. I have no excuse not to drive it.

Re: Feeling guilty
I'm surprised, I would have thought the Camaro SS would have been the garage queen, only driven sparingly and preserved while the SVX became the everyday car.

Re: Feeling guilty
I also am feeling guilty, but thats because I keep driving mine once a week with leaking valve covers, shame on me, warm weather is on the way though so I'll try to take care of that.
Go look at the SVX right now, drop a battery in, pour in some fresh gas, start it, drive it, you wont be sorry, well if you get stopped for no tags you will.........you get the picture, enjoy that car!...............G

I'll see what I can do. My car club is having a meet in San Diego that same weekend and they want me to go there too. I have to tag the car first.

Re: Feeling guilty
well, no more guilt. I went out yesterday, bought a battery, but in some good gas and gave her a bath after letting her sit since last June. I took her out for some exercise. After driving my Camaro for a while it was quite interesting. Her is the comparison. The car now feels tiny. I never thought of it as a small car, but compared the the Camaro it feels so small. The Camaro is like sitting in a deep bath tub. The door panels and dash are high. The hood seems to go on for ever, and when you look in the side mirrors you see large bulging fenders. If the drivers seat didn't adjust up and down in the Camaro, I would not have bought it. The SVX is a glass bubble compared to it. Visually the car ends at the windshield (can't see the hood). After getting use to riding in the enclosed feel of the Camaro, I felt very exsposed in the SVX.
I enjoyed the drive, but realize I need to get back to working on it. Next steps are oil change, belts and get it registered locally, considering when I get stationed in San Diego, I'll never be able to get it past all the CARB standards. p.s. It took me 5 minutes to figure out where reverse was. Camaro is all the way right and forward. SVX is pull button up, all the way right, then back. LOL. |
