Another "Thank you JESUS moment!!"

O.K., It might have been some 'bad judgment' om my part, but JESUS protected me from...ME!!

I was working on the 65 Cuda, getting it ready for the AX.

There was a few beers involved, etc..

I was working on the brakes. It had none. I got it to the point that it had a LOT of brakes. I played with it and a line broke. I fixed the line and had a full brake again. I was confidant that the problem had been resolved, so I started working on other stuff. (Tuning and transmission stuff).

I decided to crank her up, BIG TIME, power-braking, to the 4,500 RPM range!! Tire smoke wafted throughout the 'hood'!

I shut her down, put her in park and fixed some other stuff.

I went to MOVE her and a front brake hose BUSTED!! 10 MINUTES later!!

NOW, to put this into perspective, IF that hose would have failed at 4,500 RPM, IN GEAR, WITH tires SMOKING, It would have 'ramped off' of the engines that were placed in front of it, put 2 major burn marks on the ROOF of our SVX, then T-BONE CRASHED my Outback!!

I would have LOST (3) of my favorite cars in ONE STUPID move!!

THANK you, JESUS!! You protected me from ME!!

But I'm happy to hear that it waited for you to shut down. This also saves you from kickin yourself for who knows how long afterward.

Re: Another "Thank you JESUS moment!!"

I have had plenty of those moments myself.

Thank you Lord for protecting us from our own stupidity!

My buddy, Jim had one today!!

He was hauling his 40 Chevy to my welding shop in town on his rollback. I was following.
I got a red light, so I was about 3 minutes behind him.
I came over a hill and saw PARTS laying on the road! I jumped off of the highway, and saw Jim sitting on the ramp with 2 tires missing from the left side of the rollback.

The tires had rolled into an EMPTY parking lot and fell over!!
Since he had built the rollback with a 'posi' rear, he could drive it to the exit without the left tires.
When I ran into traffic to get the parts that were laying in the road, ALL the lug nuts were trapped inside the 'bling' hubcap that he had put on it!

We put it back together and went on.

As we were putting it back, the fire whistle was blowing. I told Jim the it would have been much worse if that whistle was blowing for a crew that needed to get some ROLLBACK tires off of someone's face!!

THANK you, JESUS!! (AGAIN)
