TPS replacement?
I've been having some problems with rough idle and fluctuating RPMs at stops.
I tested the TPS with a multimeter and the voltage read as it should (Tom guided me through the whole process over the phone so it was done right LOL). I've looked over/inspected/fixed almost every other possibility and the problem persists. I had her in the shop the other day for some unrelated issues and their scanner came back with a code for the TPS. They said everything was fine and didn't push replacing it. But really, with the idle issue, along with an occasional tranny flare I'm told "could" also be affected by the TPS, I'd like to think about replacing it or at least adjusting it or something. It's an electronic part that has sit in an engine bay for 17 years and 210,000 miles. Seems like it couldn't hurt to replace? Why's everyone so opposed, is it like $500 or something? Or a PITA to replace?

Re: TPS replacement?
Rockauto lists them between $202 for the SMP to $220 for the acdelco.... I know TPSs can go bad intermittently, so if it threw a code for it and you have the funds, do it. It should sit right on the butterfly valve where the air enters the throttle body... dont see how it could be that hard to replace.
