I have trouble getting by with the SVX, Taurus, and two Foresters. We have a two car garage and two car driveway (side by side). The problem is, all 4 are daily drivers. One Forester leaves early, then me in the SVX, then my brother in the Taurus, then the other Forester. And we all come home in roughly the same order, so parking never really works without someone having to re-arrange the cars every night. And since I don't let anyone drive the SVX...

Normally the Taurus just lives on the street in front of the house.
tarus it sounds like one car per person, interesting concept, never tried it I hear it is affordable Musical cars

Parking problems

I live with my daughter Rona in a 1,000 sq ft. condo that has an attached two car garage. So, in the garage are her 186,000 mile Miata, waiting to be restored, and my Alfa Romeo 164, the only car I own with less than 100K miles on it. On the street, confounding the neighbors, are Rona's daily driver, a Mazda Protege5, my Capri and the SVX. It's really a problem here, because even an open air RV storage lot goes for $100 per month per space. (which is why one of my neighbors keeps his 22 foot class A motorhome on the street too, even though it is illegal.) I have been thinking about a couple of lifts, so I could at least get four cars into the garage. Oh, and when I get a test car from a manufacturer to drive for a week, it goes on the street, too.

I can't seem to find the one size fits all plan...typical but I'm having ideas

I like the design and basic layout of this one, but I really want a 3 car garage...

This has promise, but again, only a 2 car garage and no deck!

The layout of this is just right, a little biger apartment than I really wanted, but the best use of space, and the garage is just large enough, downside is the style does nothing for me so I;d just change the trim and a few details to make it just right... Big plus, no modifications needed to the design, and it even has a deck off the kitchen, just where I like it

The exterrior of this one does it for me, different siding high and low so maby use that style of exterrior on the previous layout?

Ahem, now where to store my "stuff"... How about right HERE!

How about designing in enough ceiling height for one of these? Or 2.

Why just one? I'd love to have one, or 3 and I've even thought of building my own although I might be best to stick to trailers and cars

There is a detailer here that runs his bizz out of a large steel building, he shares the space in a machine shop. He keeps a few special cars inside stacked with a 4post. My father-in-laws' bendpak bolts to the floor, so that nifty caster trick doesn't work.... If you buy one list and wheel it around, you can "shelf" your cars in a steel building with lofts built to support em.

Imagine this, steel building long enough to park 5 cars side by side... on each side... with a loft on each side... store the lift in the middle where you work on the cars. if it needs to be narrow, you pull the car on the lower level opposite out first. drive top car onto lift, lower lift, pull car forward into now empty spot, move lift, pull car out.

...20-23 car solution

That would work well if you live in a congested area, if you build it yourself those steel building kits are scarey pricy so I'd just build into a hill and have one ground level door for below and one for above with lifts in the garage under the house Volume discount?
